8th Annual 2019 Contest Entry Form

GENERAL RULES
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to amateur ‘ukulele players over the age of three as of January 1, 2019.
ENTRY FEE:
US20.00
*No Kama'aina discount
DIVISIONS:
1) Solo: Keiki (ages 3 - 11)
2) Solo: Teens (ages 12 - 18)
3) Solo: Open (ages 19 and over)
4) Group: Open to groups of two or more, up to a maximum number of 10 performers. Must have one ‘ukulele player in group of two to five, and three or more ‘ukulele players in groups of six or more.
*Multiple entries are not allowed.
*Anybody can enter the contest by uploading an unedited video on YouTube and submitting an entry form.
ENTRY SONG & PERFORMANCE:
Competitors are free to select the song of their choice but all songs must be no more than four (4) minutes in length.
YOUR ENTRY SONG MUST BE THE SAME AS YOUR PERFORMANCE AT THE FINAL ROUND. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF QUALIFIED, CHANGE OF SONGS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
Use of electrical effect pedals and/or distortion boxes are not allowed.
HOW TO ENTER:
Submit the entry form online at www.ukulelepicnicinhawaii.org/contest/ with an online video link to a performance of the entry song by December 31, 2018 (deadline extended).
Pay the entry fee online to complete the entry.
FINALISTS:
Six finalists from each division will be selected to compete at a live competition on February 9, 2019.
Qualified finalists to be informed by email by January 10th, 2018.
PRIZES:
Grand Champion - Grand Champion will be chosen among all 1st place winners from all 4 categories and receive a $500 USD Scholarship (presented by Ukulele Foundation of Hawai'i) and $500 USD worth of gift certificate.
MVP (Most Valuable Player) - The opportunity to perform live at 11th Annual ‘Ukulele Picnic in Hawai‘i on February 10, 2019.
KZOO Radio Prize - The opportunity to have your original song broadcasted on KZOO Radio for 12 months starting in February 2019.
Finalist Prizes - 1st place for each division will receive fine ‘ukulele. 2nd and 3rd place will receive honorable mention prizes. Every finalist will receive a small gift.
Special Jury Prize - Given to only one (1) contestant from among all qualified finalists for his/her use and mastery of Hawaiian mele (song) in Hawaiian language during performances.
STEPS TO COMPLETE YOUR ENTRY
1. First, upload your performance (in video) to your YouTube account.
(Please do not edit or overdub the material. Any edited materials will be disqualified.)
2. Next, enter your details in the following form to complete your entry. You must fulfill your $20 entry fee.
3. Once you qualified for the qualifying round, you or your band will enter the final round.
Qualified finalists to be informed by email by January 10, 2019.

◇ソロ部門／OPEN (19歳以上～)
※注意事項
・同一人物がソロおよびグループに重複してエントリーすることはできない
・同一人物が複数グループに重複してエントリーすることはできない
【演 目】 全部門共通／自由曲1曲 (4分以内)
※注意事項
・演奏はウクレレが主体であること
・演奏時間が4分を超えないこと
・演目は自由選択、インストゥルメンタル曲／ボーカル曲は問わない
・オリジナル曲／カバー曲も問わない
・ハワイ語で歌われるハワイアン・ソングの演目のみが審査員特別賞の対象とします
・エントリー曲は決勝ラウンドでの演奏曲と同一のものとします

【表 彰】
グランドチャンピン／ファイナリスト賞の1位の中から1組のみ：$500の奨学金(ウクレレファウンデーション・オブ・ハワイ提供)と$500相当のギフト券を贈呈します。
ファイナリスト賞(全カテゴリー)：各カテゴリーの優勝者には副賞としてカニレアから高級ウクレレが与えられます。2位と3位にも副賞を授与します。またすべてのファイナリストにも参加賞を与えます。
KZOOラジオ賞／オリジナル曲にて出場した最優秀者1組：優秀なオリジナルソングにはKZOO賞が与えられ、1年間その曲がハワイの日本語ラジオ放送局KZOOラジオで使用されます。
最優秀賞(MVP)／各部門の最優秀賞受賞者より1組：最優秀賞者は、ウクレレピクニック・イン・ハワイで、プロ参加ミュージシャンと同じステージに立って演奏することができます。
審査員特別賞・ハワイアンソング／部門入賞に関係なく全出場者から1組：部門入賞に関係なく全出場者でハワイアンソング(ハワイ語による歌唱が必須となります)を演奏した演者から1組、審査員の協議により審査員特別賞を授与いたします。

【ウクレレピクニック・イン・ハワイ出演権】
